Is QWO for Thighs and Cellulite? Or Is QWO Only for Buttocks? What’s the Best Cellulite Treatment for Thighs?
Are you suffering from dimples on the inner thigh, outer thigh or upper thigh? It’s no surprise that you’re here wondering if QWO is right for you. Afterall, it’s a game-changer in the world of cellulite treatments. It’s the first FDA-Approved injectable specifically indicated for moderate-to-severe cellulite. That means it’s a quick, safe and effective solution to get rid of cellulite without surgery. Frankly, that’s the best news we’ve heard in awhile! But it also begs a few questions. Specifically, can QWO be used for cellulite on thighs? Or is QWO only for buttocks or butt area? We’ll drill down further on these questions in today’s post, Qwo Cellulite Thighs Treatment: Is it a Top Choice for Thighs?
What is QWO Cellulite Treatment? How Does it Work for Cellulite Reduction?
Before we talk about QWO for thighs, let’s talk about how it works for cellulite in general. In a nutshell, it targets something called septae. Specifically, septae are the compartments, which connect the skin perpendicularly to the structures below it — called fascia. When the septae become fibrous and rigid, fat on thighs can balloon over them. As a result, you get the tell-tale dimpling and rippling on the surface of the skin — what we’ve all heard called cottage-cheese thighs or the orange peel effect.
This is where QWO comes in. When injected into the treatment area, QWO releases the septae. It does so with enzymes called AUX-1 and AUX-11. Both are highly effective at breaking down the excess collagen that’s responsible for making the septae rigid in the first place. Once the collagen is relaxed, the fat is no longer held tightly, and the skin smooths out evenly under the surface of the body.
What Causes Cellulite? What areas of the Body Can Get It?
We’re all familiar with the combination of depressions and fat deposits that cause the skin to have a dimpled, lumpy, bumpy “cottage cheese” or “mattress” like texture. But what causes this process in the first place? In fact, there isn’t one thing that causes cellulite. Instead, many factors contribute to both its development, as well as how severely you can get it. Specifically, these include genetics, hormone fluctuations, weight gain, weight loss and/or the natural course of aging. It can appear on the body in these areas:
- Inner Thighs / Outer Thighs / Upper Thighs / Front of Thighs
- Butt / Buttocks Area
- Stomach / Lower Abdomen
- Breast Area / On or Under Breasts
Can QWO Be Used on Thighs? Or Does Qwo Only Work for Butt?
Currently, QWO is an off-label use for cellulite reduction treatment on the thighs.. The Makers of QWO, Endo Aesthetics in Malvern, PA, received FDA-approval for QWO in July of 2020 for the permanent removal of moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks only. That said, many FDA-approved medicines and treatments are used off-label, under the guidance and supervision of an experienced physician.
How Does QWO Work to Get Rid of Cellulite on the Thigh Area?
QWO injection treatment is fairly simple, taking 30 minutes to an hour. Clients may opt for topical numbing cream at the injection site/s. Then, Dr. Liakeas will use a fine needle to inject QWO at predetermined sites along the treatment area.
