Botox Crows Feet Treatment | Botox for Eye Wrinkles or Laugh Lines

“Crow’s Feet” certainly sound bad! “Laugh Lines” might be a bit better, but not if you’re worried that they’re giving away your age. Or you’re concerned that they’re detracting from the natural beauty of the eyes. So you’re probably here looking for an eye wrinkle smoother, right? Well, you’re most definitely in luck! Botox Crows Feet Treatment is a top choice to reduce wrinkles or lines at the corners of the eyes. Here’s all you need to know to get rid of Crow’s Feet with Botox injectable, courtesy of the best medspa in NYC.

What Causes Crow’s Feet?

Crow’s Feet are the lines that appear as the result of using the orbicularis oculi muscle muscle at the corners of the eyes. In your 30s and 40s, these wrinkles generally only appear when you express yourself, typically when you laugh, squint or crinkle your eyes. As you reach your 50s and 60s, they become increasingly static and are visible when your face is at rest. Without Botox around the eyes, Crows Feet can deepen and become a permanent feature on the face. With more time, they can become creases and folds that tend to overshadow the shape, color and appearance of the eyes. Botox can help put the focus back where it should be: on the eyes — the “windows of the soul”.

What is Crows Feet Botox Treatment?

Before we talk about Crows Feet Treatment, let’s talk about wrinkling of the face. Basically, as we age, people’s faces will typically wrinkle in these areas:

  • Crows Feet / Periorbital Wrinkles / “Smile Lines” or “Laugh Lines”: Wrinkles that become more prominent as we smile, causing crinkling at the corners of the eyes.
  • Bunny Lines or “Bunnies”: Horizontal, vertical or diagonal nose wrinkles below the forehead and between the eyebrows. They typically appear in pairs or threes when you scrunch up your nose.
  • Forehead Lines or “Surprise Lines”: Parallel, horizontal rows of lines across the brow, typically, in a pair or threes.
  • Nasolabial Folds or “Smile Lines” or “Parentheses Lines”: Vertical lines that extend around the bottom of the nose to the mouth.
  • Lip Lines or “Lipstick Lines” / “Smoker’s Lines” / “Purse String Lines”: Vertical lines on or above the mouth.
  • Marionette Lines or “Puppet Lines”: Vertical lines that extend downward from the bottom of the lips towards the chin and  jawline.

The great thing about Botox is that it can be used on each and/or all of these areas to reduce wrinkles.

Answer to All Your Botox FAQs

How to Get Rid of Crows Feet with Botox Injectable?

We love Botox for wrinkles, because it works across the full face. But what if you don’t want Botox in multiple areas? Here’s where we can target Botox treatment to the unique needs of each individual. In a nutshell, we don’t all wrinkle the same way, so we don’t all require the same treatment. Specifically, how much and exactly where we develop lines depends on each individual’s:

  1. Genetics
  2. Facial structure and
  3. Patterns of expression.

So while Crow’s Feet may be an area of concern for you, your BFF might want to focus on Botox for Forehead Lines.

What Botox Before and After Results Can I Expect?

Botox treatment is typically 30-60 minutes, making it the definition of a “lunchtime” treatment. In a nutshell, the doctor will inject a small amount of Botox neurotoxin with a fine needle at strategic points along the treatment area. This works to relax the muscles to, in turn, smooth the skin along the surface of the treatment area. As a result, treatment will temporarily diminish wrinkles.

How Long to Work? How Often Should I Get Botox for Crow’s Feet? Long Does Botox for Crows Feet Last?

Botox for Crow’s Feet results typically appear between 3-7 days after injection. Wrinkle reduction typically lasts for 3-6 months, at which point additional injections work to maintain results.

Is Botox Painful? What are the Side Effects?

After your session, you can return to normal activity, as side effects are typically minor and what you’d expect following an injection. These include tenderness, redness and swelling at the injection site. Typically, these after effects resolve within hours or a few days.

How Many Units of Botox for Crows Feet? How Much Does Botox Cost? What are the Injection Sites?

We typically recommend injecting Crow’s Feet with between 8 to 12 units per eye, typically along 3 injection sites. However, the number of Botox units and the Botox price depends on:

  • individual anatomy,
  • the extent of aging on the treatment area, and
  • Individual beauty goals

Because of these factors, we always recommend coming in to speak with an Expert in Beauty to determine Botox pricing for you.

Can I Get Botox for Under Eye Bags?

The answer to this question is a resounding no! Botox in the under eye bag area can actually make the crease appear heavier and/or cause the skin to sag or droop. It’s important that the injector knows to place product solely into the orbicularis oculi muscle, in order to avoid making under eye bags appear more prominently. Instead, there are several other nonsurgical treatments for under eye bags that highly effective, depending on what’s causing the under eye area to sag or droop. These include Ultherapy, Dermal Fillers and Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP.

Does Botox in Crow’s Feet Change the Shape of Your Smile? Can Botox Around Eyes Affect My Smile?

Yes, when the Botox is injected improperly, it can affect the smile. Specifically, if it’s injected below the orbicularis oculi muscle and into the zygomaticus muscle it can change the shape of the smile. Seek a professional with Botox experience to avoid this issue.

How to Find a Botox Doctor / Provider / Injector in NYC? Do The Injection Sites Matter?

In addition to the issues described above, Botox can be injected too close to the ocular muscles of the eye. If this happens, it can shift the eye, change the gaze and/or cause blurry vision. Additionally, if improperly placed into the lid of the eye, there’s a risk of creating a heavy, drooping eyelid.  We can not stress enough how important it is to choose a provider with a proven track record of injecting botulinum toxin on many patients, in order to avoid these Botox mistakes.
